I am from Taiwan, passionate about languages, cultures, communications, travelling. I have been to more than 25 countries and continuing.

My philosophy of learning language is for communication, so I always teach useful Mandarin to my students. Also, always good to learn with someone has full of the stories and experiences, right? 🙂 

I have taught students from more than 22 countries around the world. Over 3 years of Mandarin Chinese online teaching experience. My lesson is relax and fun, and the secret is I never stop to improve myself, I attend many course of teaching and I read one book a week to keep my knowledge and my lesson fresh.

I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan. I lived in England for 3 years, and travelled to many countries, those experience makes me a better teacher, as I have better understanding with the different cultures and the needs of the students.

I've done about 10 lessons with Chia Yu now and I would highly recommend her as a tutor. As someone who spoke Chinese at home when I was young, I came in with decent speaking and comprehension skills but only elementary level reading and writing skills. Chia Yu did a great job customizing my lessons so that I could continue to work on both speaking and reading at different levels. She always comes with a super cheerful attitude and I enjoy our conversations.

Chia Yu is my favorite teacher. She deserves 10 Stars! I use Preply for learning Chinese for 2 years already and she is by far the best teacher I found among the many I tried. Try a class with her and you will know why. She is very passionate about teaching and she really puts her hearth to give the best to each student based on their needs and personality. If there was an option I would give 10 stars to Chia Yu. She is a very patient, easy-going and nice person. I really enjoy Chinese with her as she gives me loads of examples and exercises to do. She encourages you to study in a way that it makes the whole learning process easy and fun! She knows many languages so she can help you understand Chinese better if you are a total beginner like me.
